
The vitamin a belongs to the family of similar appearing molecules like retinoids for the completing the remainders of vitamin sequence. The important part of vitamin a is retinyl group which is now available in various forms. In the animal food the main component is vitamin A which is an ester, basically retinyl palmitate converting into alcohol in the small intestine. In certain products vitamin A is also present as aldehyde. Acid basically retinoic acid contain vitamin A in low amount but not shows any function in retina of the eye part of human body.
Consumers will find that all kinds of vitamin A is containing beta-ionone ring attached by iso pronoid chain. This structure of vitamin A is needed for vitamin activity. The consumers of vitamin A can see that the orange pigment present in the carrots-beta -carotene produces two joined retinyl group for increasing the level of vitamin A in the body. Presently no other carotenes is having the vitamin activity among them.
People can find vitamin A in varied forms like retinol which is a form of it is found while the consumption of animal food sources such as yellow, fat-soluble; vitamin plays important role in vision and bone growth. Another form is retinoids which is a chemical compound showing vitamin A. The vitamin A was found in 1906 showing that with carbohydrates, proteins, and fats it is essential for both human and animals.
Now consumers of vitamin A will also like to know in which food it is mainly found. People will get vitamin A in liver of beef, chicken, turkey,fish, pork; sweet potato, carrot, broccoli leaf, kale, butter, spinach, leafy vegetables, pumpkin etc. The role of intake of vitamin A is immense like it plays an important role in vision,gene transcription, immune function, embryonic development and reproduction, bone metabolism, haematopoiesis, skin health, and antioxidant Activity.
